The nature of TOEIC test isn’t for academic purpose. Many test takers just want to pass this test, no matter with a high score or low score. For them a basic or minimum set of TOEIC words is expected. To select a set of words that are must-have to pass TOEIC test is difficult. But if we allow 10 or 20 percent mistakes, there are still some basic TOEIC word lists deserved to recommend. For example, 'Interchange - Companion to the TOEIC® Test' gives a basic word list that is proved very useful by test takers: simple, short, and met with test style. Here we collect the most basic 1200 word from its Book1 and Book 2 (the third edition) for test takers who are looking for a simplest TOEIC word list. We cannot say these words are enough to pass, but as long as you have them, you may take a chance. Considering this list is quite simple, we show less than two common definitions for each word.
