David's life came when he faced the giant Philistine warrior, Goliath, in battle. Armed with nothing but a sling and five smooth stones,
David stepped forward to confront the mighty giant, declaring, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty." With a single well-aimed stone,
David felled Goliath, securing a decisive victory for the Israelites and cementing his reputation as a hero and champion of God's people.
David's bravery and valor earned him the admiration of the people and the jealousy of King
Saul, who sought to kill him out of fear and envy. Yet even as he fled for his life,
David remained faithful to God, refusing to take matters into his own hands or seek revenge against his enemies.

David's faithfulness was rewarded, and he ascended to the throne of Israel, becoming the second king in the nation's history. Under his leadership, Israel experienced a golden age of peace and prosperity, as

Bathsheba and orchestrating the death of her husband,
