1. Overview
In the PTE writing test, you should use a decent vocabulary to express your ideas. When writing, you have to spell words quickly and correctly to get a good score, whereas you only understand them enough in reading.
Because PTE Academic test takers aren't native English speakers, spelling practice for PTE words is critical in exam preparation. Nowadays, most editing software has an auto-correct feature, so students' spelling ability is relatively low.
We added online spelling practice to two PTE word lists on this website to help you enhance vocabulary skills, especially for the PTE writing test.
2. PTE Vocabulary Spelling By Groups
We suggest you use the
PTE Word List for Academic as a word bank to do spelling exercises, which is a good starting point for spelling practice.
This is a relatively longer word list of nearly 3000. You don't need to spell all the words. If you can pass with a 60% correct percentage, you should have complete confidence in the writing test.
Below are online spelling exercises for the first two groups of PTE Word List for Academic.
A PTE spelling sheet is an interactive web page of 10 random words produced dynamically from your selected group. You can also make a spelling worksheet that includes all the words of the current group.
Below are all links to the PTE word spelling exercise based on the PTE vocabulary; each group has a separate link to launch its spelling practice.
