TOEIC Writing Vocabulary Spelling

1. Overview
TOEIC writing test has a little extra requirement in vocabulary building; namely, you have to spell these words in the right way. Poor spelling will possibly lead you to lose your score. If these spelling errors confuse meanings and the examiner misunderstands what you are trying to express, your writing score will be impacted heavily negatively. So, spelling is an essential skill for passing the TOEIC writing test.

TOEIC test takers are non-English speakers and not for academic purposes. For those who don't have experience or school training to write in English before, there are many tasks to prepare for writing tests. Building writing vocabulary is the first of them. If you cannot spell an essential vocabulary to cover the main topics in TOEIC writing, how can you write? Or what do you use to express your idea?

That is why we strongly suggest you build your writing vocabulary separately from your general TOEIC vocabulary. As a common rule in language study, most of the words we know are used to read, listen, and speak; only a small part can we write or spell.

Because listening and speaking tests usually do not involve difficult words, the general TOEIC vocabulary is mainly for reading tests; it is relatively large and challenging. If you can spell all of them, your writing shouldn't have any trouble. However, it's a contradiction: reading needs vocabulary as large as possible, but spelling every word will slow the velocity of learning new words. A widely accepted solution is to circle an exclusive word list to practice spelling, we call it as TOEIC writing vocabulary, which includes words to support writing for usual topics in TOEIC test.

2. TOEIC Vocabulary Spelling By Groups
If we have a small but valuable vocabulary to practice spelling, it will help very much to prepare TOEIC writing in the minimum time it takes. Test takers have separate vocabulary levels and aim for distinct goals; no one can provide a standard list for TOEIC writing.

3000 TOEIC Vocabulary can cover TOEIC modules for most TOEIC test takers. As we mentioned above, the spelling exercise is only for writing tests, so you don't need to spell all the words in this list. You can skip difficult words, rare words, or any words that you believe are not to be used in your writing test. The vocabulary has 14 groups in total. We show links to spelling exercises for the first two groups.
A TOEIC vocabulary spelling sheet has two modes: 10 random words per worksheet or all words of the current group. You can select two buttons at the end of the page. Below are all links to TOEIC vocabulary spellings based on the vocabulary.
