IELTS Vocabulary Quizzes Online

1. Overview
For IELTS test takers, there are many methods to study new words or review known words, but everyone has one's preference. IELTS word single choice quiz is one way that some students take as a core method to keep known words warm.

We develop some online functionalities to study or review each word in our IELTS vocabularies. The single choice quiz, it's called Match on the web page, is one of them. It is a prevalent style in any language studying: try to match one word with many options by meaning. It is a handy and flexible practice to impress known words, familiarize new words, and evaluate vocabulary level and progress.

We design the IELTS vocabulary quiz with one single choice from 4 options, and it is fully done online. Web visitors can enjoy this feature any time and any place only if the Internet is accessible. The quiz sheets are presented on web pages with a simple click. No matter what vocabulary you are studying, you can get the vocabulary quiz sheet smoothly.

The quiz itself is plain to understand; one minute is enough to learn how it works. Directly speaking, there are four options: if you get the right one, it will be highlighted in green immediately.

This sort of IELTS vocabulary quiz is to study or review words, not simulate any real IELTS test questions. We clarify this point to all web visitors: these online word quizzes are only to study IELTS vocabulary. If you are looking for real IELTS questions or sample questions, these quizzes aren't suitable for you.

2. IELTS Vocabulary Quizzes By Groups
In general, a vocabulary quiz is only an aid to learn and review a particular word list. As a built-in feature, it can be invoked from any IELTS word lists of this website. To demonstrate how it works, we take 500 IELTS Vocabulary as an example. It is a basic level and middle-size vocabulary for academic test-takers and has five groups. Here are links to the first two groups.
If your score is more than 60%, it means your IELTS vocabulary skill is quite good. A single-choice quiz is a fast way to review known words on the current list. Then you may challenge larger word lists, like 4000 IELTS Academic Word List. Sooner or later, if you want to get a good mark on an academic test, the latter word list must be included in your task. Now that you can pass the basic level easily, it's time to move to the difficult one.

4000 IELTS Academic Word List covers a big set of words, whose single choice quiz is a good test to evaluate your IELTS vocabulary preparation. The vocabulary consists of 12 groups. We show links to the first two groups.
We design the single choice practice as ten words per page, namely each IELTS vocabulary quiz sheet has a set of 10 random words in your specified groups. To help students evaluate the skill of particular vocabulary and group, we also offer a button to make quizzes for all words of the current group on one page.

Below are all links to IELTS vocabulary quizzes based on four vocabularies; each group has a separate start point.

3. Bilingual IELTS Vocabulary Quizzes
IELTS test takers are usually non-English speakers. Most of them used to study English words with explanations in their home language. Is it possible to add the native language's definition in options? If so, it will save much time and improve efficiency.

On this website, 3 IELTS vocabularies indeed have multiple language support: besides English definition, there are 9 other languages' definitions available for learners to select. If your home language is in them, its definitions can be merged into options in vocabulary quizzes.

4000 IELTS Academic Word List is an example to support multiple languages. We show the first two groups' links that respectively include definitions of Chinese, Arabic, Russian, and Korean.
Check the following buttons, if your native language is there, add its definitions to quizzes just by one extra click.
